This exercise was an absolute blast!!! I loved how this project stretched my creativity by all the options voicethread had to offer. It was so much fun being pushed out of my comfort zone by using different voices with the dialogue in my story, along with the help of my lovely assistant, Beck. I just loved this whole process! I didn't have that much trouble at all creating my voicethread. This might be because I watched the video tutorial prior to making my voicethread. I felt it was fairly simple to make and that mostly everything was self-explanatory. However, I understand that my students are going to need more guidance towards making a voicethread. Publishing my voicethread on my class wiki gave me a sense of proud ownership towards what I created. What an awesome way for my future students to strive for their best with the boost that their writing they created through a voicethread will be posted on a class wiki or a blog for all to see! As a future educator, I can see myself incorporating the same exercise in my elementary classes. I might do this project in pairs, so students could switch off on doing dialogues. I might perform the publishing much like we did, maybe onto a wiki or blog. I could even have a section of the day planned to were the students present their voicethreads to the class themselves. I also love the idea of using voicethreads on my smartboard/projector to show a work of literature that may be included in their curriculum. I think that would be a fabulous and enjoyable way for my students to comprehend a certain story. I also feel this is an positively effective way to introduce kids to educational technology without feeling intimidated.
